Following the Appalachian Trail

In 1976 Peter & Beryl Kennedy visited some of the surviving families in Virginia and N Carolina who had given songs and played for Cecil Sharp & Peter's aunt, Maud Karpeles, 60 years before - they met Florence Puckett at Afton, Nelson Co.,Va., Mr & Mrs Jessie Sheilor at Meadows of Dan, Patrick Co., Julie Boone, Micaville, Yancy Co., N.C. and the Sheltons at Carmen, Madison Co.- there was plenty of talking, singing and dance-tunes on fiddle, banjo, piano & guitar - and memories of the 1916-18 visits
