SAM LARNER'S SAUCY SEA SONGS

Sam LARNER (1878-1965), East Anglian fisherman from Winterton, near Yarmouth, Norfolk, was recorded and filmed by Philip Donellan in 1965. Sam went to sea at 8 years old and spent his life on the North Sea herring luggers and steam drifters until the 1930's depression. During that time he learned a wealth of songs. 139Larner,Sam.JPG
