'SCAN' TESTER - SUSSEX BAND CONCERTINA & BANDONION

Lewis Tester (1886-1972) the Sussex dance musician and singer first recorded by Peter Kennedy in 1963. He is best-known for his playing of old-time country music on the Anglo Concertina, but here he is also heard playing the much larger German-made Bandonion, developed in Argentina by the Tango orchestras. He talks about the instruments, tells a story about busking on Brighton beach and sings three dramatic songs - JEALOUSY (Poison in a glass of wine) - THE FALSE BRIDE - THE LAKES OF COLDFLYNN
